Friday, September 09, 2005 i know its late. early, for that matter. today sister was really pissing me off. like really ok you dont know/dont want to know how bad we can get then suddenly at night like 12+ in she trots into my room and says YAY you're still awake! at least i got company! although i was doing chinese at that time and not in the best of moods then, somehow mood lifted immediately then she went out and presently came back again and she saw the 8 days on my bed [go and read this week's. it is so lame and stupid you would jsut cry laughing and thanking your stars that you are not so bo liao] and happily pounced onto it and started talking to me like happy cheerful talk you know? then she begged for a game of dai dee. i won i won she won she won i won so total i won HAH it was kinda fun and crazy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- recently i've been attacked by waves of nostalgia. last week had this cluster bbq at some chalet and there were only 2 sec 3s, one boy one girl, both with whom i've grown up [excluding kor jie me] and the rest were little tots ages ranging from 3-p6 watching them play at the beach and racing each other and playing catching made me see myself and those others i grew up with we were the children of the first batch of adults and they are the children of the adults who joined the church much much later makes me feel kind of sad you know the feeling? sad? and to think that days of setting obstacle courses at the playground, forming teams and competing against each other, competing to see who can dig the biggest, deepest hole at the beach, running around blowing bubbles, reading enid blyton's books ......... are all over, really really gets to me. to bryan: horribly good at any obstacle course we set so much so that your team always won! when was the last time i saw/spoke to you? i dont remember already. i kinda wish you were still here. to sheryl: i missed you too you know. just that im not one who expresses her affection for others by hugging and saying all those sentimental things. and how silly of you to add some tamil-speaking person instead of me! nevermind we can talk on msn now at least to mervin-a-poot-poot: although you are taller than andrew now, i think i'll still call you that, just for old times' sake! actually, i also dont know what to say anymore. can i cry now, please? to benny: YOU AH! think you very old right. humph you are still not taller than me yet ok! till you grow taller than me, i can still easily beat you up hor! heh i still remember how you'd cry at every little scrape and fall. jie, bryan, me, sheryl, merv, benny i wish we still went to uncle lawrence's house for cell and played at the playground downstairs from when the adults let us off at around 9 till when the HDB people switched off the lights and it was too dark to play anymore. i wish we still went to my old house and had bbqs, and we'd squeeze and all sit on the old creaking metal swing [thats been there ever since i remember] eating chicken wings and beehoon. i still wish we went to uncle charlie's house for cell and would sit in the room [before becky was born, remember?] and watch his vcds on the comp. and samuel was a little tot and we had to keep preventing him from destroying everything. i still wish we could split ourselves into teams and race through obstacle courses at uncle lawrence's playground. and do you remember, uncle charlie used to hide lightsticks all around my old condo's garden, pool and bbq area? and we'd hunt for them in the dark. that was relaly fun. and folding little paper boats to see whose would last longest in the swimming pool. i could never fold the ones you could, bryan. always was terrible at such things. all that was 9 years ago. when i was p2 plus minus. but we must have been together since birth. i know there's a picture in bryan's house which has us older ones in baby form, cradled in our parent's arms. and now, the next time i'll see you guys is during yvonne's wedding next sat. seeing a 13 year old zackydog [its a purple puppet] who is not quite so purple now [grey, in fact, with hitns of purple in convered areas like under his little feet] and is falling to bits makes me want to cry angela posted this at 02:14 [comment] *** |
