Jesus is the reason for the season, don't ever forget that. so many times when i think of what Christ did for us all, it completely boggles my mind, to think that Jesus was thinking of me and you when He died on that cross. Jesus loves you! <3 angela posted this at 23:47 [comment] *** Thursday, December 21, 2006 19th Dec 2006 : I GOT BAPTISED! [: [: [: on the last night of YA camp 2006 [18th dec] after Holy Spirit encounter which was mega wonderfully awesome we all went back to camp and had a bbq. didnt eat though cos tummy wasnt feeling good. then after that played bridge. until 7am. then somehow, at 7am, we decided to sleep. and i woke up at 8.30 cos daddy called me to ask when was the baptism and i realised then, that it had been raining for more than 24 hours! and it was still raining! baptism how!? but then. God always looks after His children's baptism days. ever since i can remember there has not been one baptism that had to be cancelled due to weather. God is fantastic huh? the 5 um.. to-be-baptised-persons had to wear PFDs [note: its a personal floating device! not a life jacket!] as it was the protocol at the MOE adventure camp. [that place is great, save for the aeroplanes that fly by throughout the entire day and night so you wake up every 10 mins and your sentences keep getting paused] first time seen a baptism done with PFDs on. and oh. daddy mummy and alex came to support. daddy did more than support, he took a camera-ful of pictures. [: and it was drizzling all the time. anyway. I'm real glad. need to put my walk with God in order again and this is so gonna be the last time. as roland put it: the challenge comes after we break camp, cos then you'd have your computer, your tv etcetc.. all of which distract you from doing the really important things like QT and praying. so when i got home on tuesday, slept from 12-1 then woke up for lunch at Phin's in tampines. its on the same floor as the golden village i think. MUST EAT THERE IT IS CHAOJI SUPER WORTH IT PLUS FOOD IS SHIOK plus afterward while paying the bill you can take some of the really cute, nice, and unavailable-in-singapore sweets in the bowl on the counter. i guess a description of the food at Phin's is due here. 1. student's set meal from 2-5 [i think] is $6.90 [i think most of them are] - this includes: 1 soup of the day, 1 main course, 1 drink okay whatever im not a food critic and i cannot paint a beautiful picture of the food there. but the fish and chips [you may say: HUH. fish and chips!?] is a must try. the batter is so light and thin that it does not make you feel sick nor do you feel like you're eating batter only. and the soup! is chock full of ingredients and it is thick. not the fako watery bowls of liquid doused in pepper that try to pass off as soup. pseudo soup you do not find at Phin's. actually its a steakhouse, but as i don't eat steak, i cant say much about the steak there heh. but it comes in ladies', mens' and uh. gluttons' cut i think. anyway, please go there! i'm so afraid that business isn't good enough for them and they'll close down one day. NOOOOO. ------------------------------ I live for Jesus, for He has freed us Shout from the mountains there's no more living in chains angela posted this at 22:11 [comment] *** Monday, December 18, 2006 I felt God telling me tonight that I need to 1. be obedient 2. forgive 3. love others 4. pray for direction in my life angela posted this at 00:03 [comment] *** Friday, December 15, 2006 yay today lunched at ikea. the six of us ordered: dad: the rice set of the day mum: fried chicken + veg kor: 15 meatballs jie: poached salmon me: 10 meatballs alex: poached salmon + 6 chicken wings wate and ate [: [: [: there is something which i must do. angela posted this at 00:01 [comment] *** Tuesday, December 12, 2006 i want to lunch at ikea. what is the point of writing down lists if you dont do them? so i'm not even going to try. what for anyway. ok but i am sick of being stupid and i am even more sick of myself saying that!! i want to change this template, which so far has not loaded fully in about uh. 2 and a half years i think. and i want to change the url too yay okay this b*rthd*y has been one of the worst but that hasnt anything to do with anyone who might actually read this nevermind cos Jesus loves me angela posted this at 13:03 [comment] *** Monday, December 11, 2006 i am very excited. moni i can't wait for tmr night. [: see you at city hall! ok this is quite random, but i think i want to study in singapore. im such a homebody. how to survive in some foreign country for 4 years?! only that simei is so ulu and so far away from all the universities here. so an option would be staying in the hostel. people say that its very wild there.. but i dont want! i like peace and quiet. well. i think i can imagine what some of the things done there are like so call me a victorian prude. i mean there some things that lots of people do aren't glorifying to God and i am quite determined not to do them. long live victorian prudes. we are a dying breed. 7pm city hall yay angela posted this at 20:38 [comment] *** Saturday, December 09, 2006 ok i am sick on my birthday. other than that, so far its been nice. thanks for all the sweet/not-so-sweet [haha] smses and emails :] :] got back from camp ideapolis at ntu last night around 10.30pm it was from wed-fri and the entire thing was about coming up with a business plan and presenting it. so ACT raffles [Anna Cai Avery Chew Angela Chan Tan ruo qi = ACT] got into the finals with 5 other teams out of 31. or 32? well i think our presentation was the best. it was kinda frightening imagining having to present to about 150 ppl in this megabig auditorium so i kept looking up at the audience while we were waiting to present to get used to looking. thank God i didnt freeze up on stage. as praying so hard i wouldnt! and ANNA CAI has got to be the BEST PRESENTER out of all the jc kids there. she had so much to say and so little time to prepare and yet that girl managed to deliver it smoothly almost without referring to her script at all! in the end we didnt win anything, but i think these 3 days are well worth the: - very little sleep [actually i think we slept the most but... i need my sleep to grow man..] - not very palatable but still edible food heh - the DUST and dirt from the carpets that caused me to break out in little dots that itch like mad but aren't rashes [avery says it looks like the eczema he has] - falling sick on 9th December!!!! [due to abovementioned dust] - the sleep-inducing seminars but of course we learnt lots of stuff there oh. but wait. there was good stuff too. the 35cents coffee. wow. the 40 cents milo peng!!?? in rj how expensive can!?!? and the ntu people there were really wonderful. our mentor lau kee wee got like how many other mentors to come vet our presentation! so thanks ya all those who vetted. im sorry i forgot your names! heh heh. angela posted this at 17:15 [comment] *** |
