Monday, January 21, 2008 i pray to God that i will not marry a MCP. if there is anyone i cant stand, its a MCP. --------- my father keeps insisting that he's right. he is always right. if you are always right, why bother asking my opinion since i am going to be condemned as wrong anyway? so that he can feign a 'democratic' rule in this house? oh, right. this is what happened. my brother is in the midst of choosing ccas now that he is sec 1. and my father keeps insisting that he should join as many ccas as he can and that things like attendance and what not do not matter if you are good enough. and also, that a good cca record obtained by achieving in one or two ccas with some leadership positions held is NOT IMPORTANT. now it certainly isnt ALL important but it sure is not UNimportant either. what i cant get is why he keeps saying that teachers, coaches, the school, all dont care if you attend or not so long as you are good. how to be good if you dont attend? naturally? how many people are naturally talented? it is not wise to assume your son is so powerfully gifted even if you think so. and then he went on to how i was so pathetic at softball, because i didnt learn from the Great Master, who incidentally, only played softball for one year oh, about 40 years ago. because you see, his rationale is that i did not learn anything from the method i was taught. so if i had undergone his tutelage i would have been the Indispensible Star Player! my goodness. i cant stand him la. seriously. and he keeps insisting i get a job that will 'help me' in my future career. like interning somewhere, say some govt board. so i am supposed to pull the strings myself to get me interned there? everyone i know is doing a temp job. except for the lucky few who have parental connections to get them interned somewhere that will benefit their future career choices. so dont think i am such a slacker and refuse to get a job. its that every job i propose he is not happy with. WTF LA OKAY SERIOUSLY CANNOT TAKE IT. 9-5 JOB I MUCH PREFER TO THIS. anyone who knows of any jobs i implore you to tell me about it! [: angela posted this at 20:05 [comment] *** |
